Ballonlea is the sixth Gym in Pokémon Sword that players must defeat in order to become the Galar Region Champion. Allister, a Ghost-type Trainer, is the Gym Leader of the eighth Gym. Players must fulfill numerous trials before confronting him to a Gym Battle. These tasks may be found everywhere across Ballonlea.

The first task can be found in Allister’s store, where players must assist an NPC called Dedenne with his Poké Ball issue. This is accomplished by answering a series of questions about its components and characteristics. Following that, the second challenge occurs at the end of a dark lane near Allister’s store, where an NPC named Yvon will hand out several Ghost-type Pokémon with unique requirements linked to them. The last challenge will take place inside Allister’s Gym, where players must battle all Trainers as well as Allister himself in order to acquire his Badge and continue on their Pokémon adventure.

The puzzles require navigating underwater currents while avoiding obstacles and manipulating obstacles using switches. After each successfully completed puzzle, a fight against one of Nessa’s Pokémon will begin. These are all twin bouts that require players to put up a well-balanced team that can resist both Water-type Pokémon’s strengths and weaknesses.

After winning all three encounters against Nessa’s squad, players will get an Iceberg Badge and TM55 Brine from her. Players who obtain this badge will be able to employ HM03 Surf, which grants access to additional places in Galar’s post-game activities.

Leader Opal

Opal is the fourth Gym Head in Pokémon Sword and the leader of Ballonlea Gym. Milcery, Alcremie, and Gigantamax Alcremie make up her fairy-type Pokémon squad. You must beat all three of Opal’s Pokémon in order to confront her in the gym.

Opal’s team is effective against flying and fairy moves, but weak against steel moves. She will employ a variety of status effects, like Fairy Wind, to disadvantage your Pokémon and confuse them with Shiny Bombs. To beat Opal and her squad, you must first understand which attacks are efficient against each of her Pokémon. Bring enough healing items like Potions and Full Heals to offset any status ailments generated by Opal’s squad.
